Art / Photography Trip

The last few weeks towards the end of term have been really exciting and busy with lots of events, trips and visitors to college.
The art/photography students went to Norwich Castle to see the permanent collection and Jeff Koons exhibition and then onto NUA to view the degree shows and find out about HE art courses.

One of Norwich’s most famous landmarks, Norwich Castle was built by the Normans as a Royal Palace 900 years ago. Students were able to explore the Castle’s history as a palace and later as a prison as well as enjoy the fabulous collections of fine art, archaeology, and natural history.

The exhibition is part of ARTIST ROOMS On Tour (supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and the Art Fund, making available the ARTIST ROOMS collection to galleries throughout the UK) and is the only chance to see Jeff Koons’ work in the UK in 2015 and includes some of his best known pieces such as Winter Bears, 1988. Jeff Koons is widely regarded as one of the most important, influential, popular and controversial artists of our time. He is famous for iconic works such as Puppy, a forty foot sculpture which stands outside the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
