Do you want to pursue a career within the music industry or progress onto university?
You will develop skills on an instrument of your choice (or vocals), learn performance techniques in various musical styles, compose music and learn how to use industry standard software. You will also learn how to set-up and use our state-of-the-art recording studio.
In the second year, you will rehearse and perform a set as part of a group for the student gig night and study the workings of the music industry. You will also plan, create and deliver a professional music product of your choice, working to deadlines as part of a production team.
You will be able to showcase your talent at our regular student gig nights, become part of the event management team, record your own music to professional standard and take part in various music-based trips.
How can I STANDOUT with Music after college?
Our students have gone on to study a range of music-based degrees, including Music Technology, Music Business and Musical Theatre. Career prospects include live session musician, live sound engineer, event manager and more.
To study a BTEC Extended Diploma, Diploma or Subsidiary Diploma you will need to have achieved:
• Four GCSEs at grades 9 to 4, or a Merit in a full Level 2 BTEC Diploma
• If you want to add an A Level with your BTEC, you will need to meet the entry criteria for A Levels
