About The Course
Do you have an interest in creating moving-image productions such as television adverts and short films? Do you want to develop valuable skills that will help you get work in the media industry?
If the answer to the above questions is ‘yes’, then the Cambridge Technical course in Digital Media is ideal for you.
As well as giving you a detailed awareness of audience and production aspects, we also look at how to get quality sound in your work- and also how to effectively create your own personal media profile.
You will work closely with your teacher and peers to create both audio and visual material, whilst learning all areas of pre-production that goes into it. By the end of the first year, you will have completed a variety of projects and developed an understanding of basic terms within the industry.
In the second year, you will be looking in more depth at specific areas of the media- such as radio programmes and short films- and creating your own. You will also be delving deeper into the types of careers available to you within the media industry itself.
You are assessed across a variety of coursework projects as well as exams, all of which build your knowledge and experience.

You will have access to a newly updated computer suite complete with applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign and more to help you produce and create your work.
You will also have access to a wide range of cameras and brand new equipment that will allow you to produce your work to a high standard and help you to develop valuable vocational skills.
How Can I Standout With Digital Media?
After your time with us, you could progress to a degree in a media-related subject, or gain entry into the industry at a junior level. At the end of the course you will have gained the knowledge and skills to enable you to build a career in hundreds of different jobs in the film, television and media industries. The course could lead onto roles such as producer, screenwriter, director, cinematographer, camera operator, editor- or even you working as a freelancer!
