Court Observations Trip

Students across the whole college made a number of visits to local magistrate and regional courts as part of their studies in BTEC, AS and A2 Law in the Autumn term.

The visits were made possible largely to the efforts of Lindsey Hook, Chair of the Gt.Yarmouth Magistrates. Students were able to experience for themselves the workings of both the Gt. Yarmouth Magistrates Court and Norwich Crown Court and observe a whole range of cases including assault, shoplifting, theft, various driving offences and in the Crown Court murder.

They were clearly engrossed by what they saw and it led to lots of discussion on topics to do with bail, sentencing and the Criminal Justice System. It is hoped future visits will be planned.
