Ipswich Cross Country

Six students from L6FC progressed through to the second round of the Suffolk Schools Cross Country Championships at Royal Hospital School in Ipswich on Thursday, with our one remaining runner unable to complete the course due to injury. Some impressive running in the mens 5700m run saw Ted Oldman finish 3rd, with Brandon Bradfield finishing 23rd Daniel Bellamy 38th and Harry Thorpe 41st. Scott Cliffen unfortunately had to withdraw from the race due to an ankle injury, but an impressive showing from the men saw 4 of our 5 runners through to the next round in just over a months time. In the womens 3740m event Alice Cheverton finished 12th, much to her disappointment (having won the race many times before!) and Lauren Broadley finished 34th to both progress to the second round again. Overall a fantastic effort from L6FC students, who have some training to do ahead of the longer races they will be running in round two!
