John Innes Centre Visit

Last Wednesday biology students at the college took part in annual Microscopy Awareness Day at the John Innes Centre in Norwich. The Centre is an independent, international centre of excellence in plant science and microbiology and had an impressive array of equipment to show off. We were given a very helpful introductory talk explaining how different types of microscopes work and saw a light microscope, transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope in action.
