Students at Lowestoft Sixth Form College are celebrating an excellent set of A Level and BTEC results, marking another year of fantastic achievement. Surrounded by classmates, teachers and their families, students collected their results and prepared to take their next steps into high-quality apprenticeships and degree programmes.
The college is particularly proud of its sustained progress over the past three years, with an 100% overall pass rate across a wide range of subjects including STEM and the Arts. This reflects the high-level teaching practices highlighted by Ofsted in their most recent report. Staff praised the dedication, commitment and resilience shown by students throughout their two years of study.
Kerry Payne, Principal at Lowestoft Sixth Form College, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements this year. Their results reflect not only their determination, but also the dedication of our teaching and support staff. Whether our students are progressing to university, apprenticeships, or employment, they leave us well-prepared for their next steps.”
Lee Beales, Director of Faculty at Lowestoft Sixth Form College, said: “We are confident that all of our students that have achieved their results today have all secured destinations that will lead them to long-term success. We pride ourselves on our inclusive and welcoming learning environment, that encourages our students to achieve their own individual greatness.”
Many students have secured sought-after degree apprenticeships with leading employers, including General Engineering at Norfolk County Council, Aerospace Engineering at EDF, AAT Accountancy with Lovewell Blake, Police Constable with Suffolk Constabulary, Dental Nursing at Plumbers Dentist and Digital Marketing at East Coast College.
University progression remains strong, with students going on to study a diverse range of subjects at universities across the country. This year’s destinations include Medicine at Dundee University, Forensic Science at the University of Suffolk, Mathematics at Loughborough University, Law at the University of Reading, Sports Coaching with the University of South Wales, Midwifery at the University of East Anglia, Musical Theatre at the University of Chichester, Linguistics at University College London and General Engineering at Durham University.
The college continues to provide support to students with their results and next steps, as well as those who will be joining the college this September. For guidance and support, please email heretohelp@eastcoast.ac.uk or call 0800 854 695.
