Lowestoft Sixth Form celebrated the outstanding achievement of more than 60 students who were awarded Scholar status at a special awards ceremony held at Lowestoft Sixth Form.
Scholar status is awarded to students who have achieved or exceeded the equivalent of 128 UCAS points, typically two A grades and a C, or one A and two B’s. This level of attainment places recipients among the top 24% of Level 3 learners nationally, across A Levels and vocational programmes.
The awards recognise students from the 2025 academic year and highlight the dedication, resilience and academic excellence demonstrated through their studies. The ceremony brought together students, families, staff and college leaders to formally recognise the scholars’ achievements and celebrate their success.

Kerry Payne, Principal at Lowestoft Sixth Form, said: “We are incredibly proud of our scholars and the exceptional outcomes they have achieved. Attaining Scholar status is no small feat – it reflects not only outstanding ability but also the dedication, resilience and commitment these students have shown throughout their studies. To be among the top 24% of Level 3 learners nationally is a remarkable accomplishment, and it demonstrates the high standards and aspirations we foster here at Lowestoft Sixth Form. The significant number of learners who have achieved this accolade demonstrates that Lowestoft Sixth Form is a place for academic excellence in a wide range of A Levels and vocational programmes. Today’s celebration is about recognising hard work and inspiring future success.”
Among the students celebrated was Dominic Dlugosz, who achieved an A in Physics, B in Computer Science and a B in Mathematics. He’s currently studying Computer Science at the University of Surrey aiming to become a Software Engineer.

Harriet Collingwood achieved a Distinction and Merit in Performing Arts and a Distinction in Music Performance. She’s currently studying Teaching of Musical Theatre at the University of Chichester.
