Lowestoft Sixth Form students celebrated their A Level results with classmates and teachers as they prepare to progress to the next stage of their academic journey in high-quality apprenticeship and degree programmes.

The sixth form achieved a 97% A Level pass rate, with 65% of students achieving A*- C grades and more than a third of students achieving A*-B grades.

Lowestoft Sixth Form College, which is part of East Coast College, once again celebrated success in its STEM subjects with 75% of students achieving A*- B grades in Physics and 71.4% achieving A* – B grades in Further Maths.

East Coast College Chief Executive Stuart Rimmer said: “We are celebrating today with our students and congratulate everyone who worked hard and who achieved their results in A Levels, BTECs and wider vocational qualifications through a difficult two years. We thank all our staff who have taught this cohort with dedication and expertise to help unlock student potential. We will now support all our students to progress to university or apprenticeships.”

Kerry Payne, Principal of Lowestoft Sixth Form College, said: “We are very proud of our students’ achievements and the hard work and dedication they have demonstrated throughout their studies. This year’s students will progress onto fantastic destinations including a range of high-quality apprenticeship and degree programmes.

“Our students have demonstrated resilience and determination, overcoming challenging times and securing their academic and vocational achievements alongside the development of skills and character needed for their next steps. I am confident that they will continue to build on their successes into the next stage of their lives. They should be very proud of themselves and each other.”

There was also celebrations for some East Coast College students who received their vocational BTEC results, with an impressive 100% pass rate in Childcare and Early Years Education, Creative Media, Art and Design, Digital Design, Performing Arts and Animal Management.
