About The Course

Do you have a vivid imagination? Are you a problem solver?

This course will give you the academic knowledge needed to break into the games industry and serves as a university preferred route towards computer game design/development degrees. Knowledge and abilities in art, music, IT and English are preferred but not strictly essential. A firm grasp of maths will help as the course progresses.

This course will consist of the following units of study:

  • 3D Modelling
  • 3D Animation
  • 3D Environments
  • Digital Games Production
  • Digital Media Skills

You will develop skills in a wide range of software including 3D modelling software (Blender), Photoshop and 2D/3D game engines (Unreal Engine/Unity, Game Maker Studio 2).

This is a vocational course which can be studied alongside a wide range of other options including A Levels and BTECs in graphic design, media, engineering and IT.

You will be taught by dedicated staff with relevant industry or academic experience, with access to high specification classrooms, equipped with a range of software and devices to assist your learning. There will also be opportunities to take part in competitions, wider events (EGX/Game Jams) and educational visits, to support your learning.

How Can I Standout With Digital Games Production?

Successful completion of this course will lead into employment or higher education. There are a number of fantastic opportunities within both the games industry and wider industries, including: games development, digital animation, 3D architectural design, graphics design and more.
