This course is delivered by East Coast College at our Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth campuses.
What is a T Level?
T Levels are a brand new two year qualification designed to give you a head start towards the career you want. They have been designed for 16 to 19-year-olds and offer a mixture of classroom learning and work placement. They follow GCSEs, gain you UCAS points and are equivalent to three A Levels.
This T Level has been developed with employers and businesses to prepare you to step straight into your chosen career, an apprenticeship or university.
About the course…
The core element of a T Level in Health will boost your knowledge in a range of topics such as the principles of good scientific and clinical practice, as well as fundamental scientific concepts; not
to mention your understanding of standard operating procedures, management of equipment and work areas, stock control and storage, and the importance of quality standards, and health and safety. As health is one of the fastest growing industry sectors, you will have a chance to make a huge difference to other people’s lives and society as a whole.
You will then choose a specialism designed to support your interests, so you can get deeper into your chosen subject and build up the skills you need for your future job. You can choose from specialist modules including supporting either Adult Nursing, Midwifery, Therapy, the Care of Children and Young People or Mental Health.
Then you will be able to put everything you learn into practice with a substantial industry placement for a minimum of 315 hours. This will give you an amazing opportunity to work with an employer while you study in a hospital or other healthcare setting and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for.
Where Health can take you…
Following this T Level, you could progress straight into a skilled profession or continue your studies with a degree or higher apprenticeship. Career options might include working in a Midwifery
team or as an Ambulance Support Worker. Our careers advisors can help you choose the right path!
