More Work Experience Achievements

Our work experience programme has gone from strength to strength, allowing our students to develop essential employment skills which can lead to great career opportunities.

Jake Galea-Pace started his work experience at AMEC back in September of last year and recently received some excellent feedback from his mentor Andrew: “Jake’s overall performance over the past 10 months has been exceptional, and in particular the excel based work he is often tasked with. Likewise, Jake appears to be enjoying the tasks, and he works well with the rest of the team, we would like to extend Jake’s work experience to continue for a while longer”

In addition to this, student Rafna Muslim gained a placement at Atkins Global at the beginning of July for two weeks, working alongside Richard Christmas, the same architect who designed our magnificent Sixth Form College! Rafna said “working at Atkins Global was a brilliant experience, they were very supportive and gave lots of useful advice and guidance too”. Not fazed by the long commute to Colchester every day on the train, this insight to working in this industry has raised Rafna’s passion to become an architect herself. This was a wonderful opportunity for her.

Work Placement co-ordinator: Lisa Head said ‘We have received really positive feedback from many of our work based placements, as our students continue to impress employers”
